Prof. Dr. Dr. Axel Hauschild has been dealing with the topic of "skin cancer," specifically malignant melanoma ("black skin cancer"), for decades. He has been the principal investigator in more than 120 clinical studies, has been invited to over 700 conferences worldwide, and has published 440 articles in prestigious international scientific journals. He is a long-standing board member of the European Association of Dermato-Oncology (EADO) and the president of the Melanoma World Society (MWS). He is also a recipient of the German Skin Cancer Award and the German Cancer Award from the German Cancer Society. He has recently been recognized for the fifth consecutive time as a "Highly Cited Researcher" in the "Clinical Medicine" category by Clarivate Analytics.
