Prof. Dr. Axel Hauschild, one of the first to join the medermis clinics group, is among the world-renowned experts in skin cancer, particularly malignant melanoma ("black skin cancer"). He has served as the principal investigator for over 120 clinical studies, has been invited to more than 700 conferences worldwide, and has published several hundred articles in high-ranking international scientific journals. He has been a long-standing board member of the European Association of Dermato-Oncology (EADO) and is the President of the Melanoma World Society (MWS). He is a recipient of the German Skin Cancer Award and the German Cancer Award from the German Cancer Society. In November 2024, he was recognized for the sixth consecutive time as a "Highly Cited Researcher" in the "Clinical Medicine" category by Clarivate Analytics.
